"Since I was about 10 years old music began to have a strong influence on me.  As I started to listen to my parent’s records more than they did I tried mimicking melodies on an old piano in our house. By the age of 12 I could clearly hear orchestral sections in songs and was beginning to see how the different parts complimented each other. Early influences were classical composers, Count Basie and big bands, and Louis Jordan - the one who bridged big band to Rock & Roll. Other influences are too numerous to mention, but I must say that Arthur Lee (& Love) and Latin music stand out among others. Music is all things and all people. The fact that I can touch and elate so many different people through music thrills me beyond words. And it is so cool that I can do this as long as I can breathe."
