Where have we been you ask? I know, it’s been a while since you’ve heard from us on this page. Apologies are asked because the band has been working and vacationing. This year we took extra time off to get away and recharge our mental batteries, ending up with a lot of air miles around the country and abroad. 

Y3K is closing out 2011 and getting ready to see more of you in 2012. Our latest shows were at Harrah’s Rincon Casino to a whooping crowd and a Halloween party. Here are some pictures from the Halloween party that we played. It was our second in a row for Keith and Jere. Hanging out with their peeps – or should I say, their ghoulish friends was a bloody bucket of fun that got off to an early start. We dig dressing up on Halloween too, so we made a pretty good go at it. The warm October night was perfect for an evening for gigging on the patio under a crescent moon and star-filled sky.

           

      

     

 

 

I want to let you know about two dates to mark on your calendars. Friday, December 23rd come join us at Humphrey’s on Shelter Island. We will play during the Happy Hour from 5:00-7:00PM. Great food and drinks from their friendly staff at half-off prices will help to get you started on a merry Christmas weekend. Come on down after work and bring your yout’s if they want to tag along.

Then we will do the Happy Hour thing again at The Belly Up in Solana Beach on Friday, December 30th from 5:30-8:00PM. The Belly Up’s Friday Happy Hours are drawing throngs of people with some of the best bands in town to help you shake off that long week on the job. It will be Y3K’s first Happy Hour there and your support will lead to us coming back for more shows at the Belly Up. So be there…Cheers!!

Early next year we are back for an annual fox hunt. Horses, barking hounds, bugles, and all. This group puts on a nice charity auction and dinner the night before they mount and do their thing. Last year was a gas – they want us again – so mount up, we’re ready!

While I’m on the subject of charities, Y3K has been chosen to headline an important benefit for the school district of Bonsall. The band has always been ready to extend our services to our favorite benefits and charities. This is The Bonsallpalooza, sponsored by the Bonsall Education Foundation. It will be held on May 5th 2012 in Club Infinity at Pala Casino in Pala. Andi teaches in this district and is taking the lead on Y3K’s participation. The Bonsallpalooza raises resources to hire music teachers to teach in the Bonsall school district. The district is strapped and has been forced to eliminate music classes from its programs. Besides saddening students and parents in the area, it hurts also that children who love and are interested in learning music are denied access to the art. This is the 4th annual and only state-wide school district to take this kind of imitative, and they will be getting a lot of support from media outlets. Y3K is stepping in. You can also by attending, volunteering, or donating. This is a day-long event so there will be other musical entertainment as well.
